And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day. And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before the LORD our God, as he hath commanded us.

Psalms 147:11

The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.

Psalms 34:7-11

7 The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.

8 O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

The Lord Jesus Christ our Almighty God and Creator, deserves our utmost respect and reverence. He did for us what no one else could do, he paid the price for our sins.

To "fear" the Lord is to worship the Lord, knowing who He is and His rightful position as Capstone of the body. He alone saved us. He alone positions us.

Webster 1828 Definition: Fear

6. In scripture, fear is used to express a filial [filial love is such an affection as a child naturally bears to his parents.] or a slavish [servitude] passion. In good men, the fear of God is a holy awe or reverence of God and his laws, which springs from a just view and real love of the divine character, leading the subjects of it to hate and shun every thing that can offend such a holy being, and inclining them to aim at perfect obedience. This is filial fear

7. The worship of God.

I will teach you the fear of the Lord. Psalms 34:7.

8. The law and word of God.

The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for ever. Psalms 19:9.

9. Reverence; respect; due regard.

Render to all their dues; fear to whom fear Romans 13:7.

Matthew 10:28

Adam and Eve got off the path and they lost the fear of the Lord for a moment. When they lost the fear of God’s word, they got into trouble.

Psalm 91. It is one of the greatest psalms in the bible. It has multiple, deep revelations in it. Fear and obedience to God’s word will lead you to this path. [Job 28:7] How many of you know that? Another thing, the fear of the Lord will relieve you of tension. It will relieve you of worry and relieve you of fear. If you have the fear of God’s word in you, the fear of satanic forces and extreme fear will have to depart. If you fear God, that is the antidote to the fear that comes from satan. Can you say, Amen? Praise the Lord. Sometimes, men don’t fear God’s word, they fear satan more or they fear the next day ahead of them, the year ahead of them or the week ahead of them. Therefore, they cannot get to this path. Remember, once you let loose of God’s word, you are like Adam and Eve; you fall from the path and you must be picked up by God again as the apostle (Peter) was on the sea when God (Jesus) lifted him up or you won’t make it. And there are traps.

We are standing on the Rock and that Rock is embedded with the golden character of Jesus. The refined and the purged are on this trail. Sometimes, it may take tests and trials before one will find this path. It’s a shame they can’t find it quicker. It’s a shame they can’t see this before they get into many problems. It will help them a lot. The shortcut to this place is fear and obedience to the word of God the Lord; not human fear, not satanic fear, but fear that is love for God. This kind of fear is love. That is a strange way to put it. But there is love there; that’s the shortcut to this path.

The only One that David ever feared was God. Now, if you fear God that is a different kind of fear. That would come from the Spirit. When that spiritual fear in you; fears God, it will wipe out all other types of [unhealthy] fear, saith the Lord. If you have the fear of God in God’s Word, that spiritual fear will wipe out all types of fear that are not supposed to be there.
