Resurrection
Two Types - Multiple Events
1st Event: First Fruit Resurrection unto Life - Crucifixion & Resurrection of Jesus and Many Saints

The first resurrection event that the bible reveals, happened after the resurrection of Jesus presumably on the third day. This event was a resurrection of many (not all) saints since the fall of man.

Matthew 27:50-53
50 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.
51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;
52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,
53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.
2nd Event: First Fruit Resurrection unto Life - Resurrection & Translation Rapture of Bride & Wise

The second resurrection event occurs simultaneously with the rapture of the living saints prior to the Great Tribulation or last 42 months of the 7-year tribulation.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

1 Thessalonians 4:16 & 17
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump (utmost exertion of power) of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

Then we (Bride & Wise elect) which are alive and remain (in God’s Authorized Word) shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

1 Corinthians 15:51-52
Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

The dead in Christ shall rise first: a great sign of the nearness of the Coming of Jesus Christ. After Jesus died he returned and ministered to the elect about 40 days before He ascended unto Heaven. (Acts 1:3) Also, some saints were resurrected and ministered unto the Elect
3rd Event: Resurrection unto Life - Tribulation Harvest Resurrection of Martyred Saints

The third event occurs after the rapture of the bride and wise, (read Matthew 25) and prior to the 1000 year millennium reign of Christ on earth. Included in this third resurrection event are the tribulation saints (those who missed the rapture but awakened during the tribulation) who gave their lives during the tribulation and refused to worship the anti-christ beast.
Revelation 20:4-6 refers to the “first resurrection”. The "first resurrection" refers not only to those saints raised in this third event, rather to all of the saints raised in events 1, 2, and 3. After the 3rd resurrection event, all the saints that are part of the first resurrection, the resurrection of life (from events 1, 2, and 3) will reign with Christ for a thousand years (the millennium).

Revelation 20:4-6
4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. [1st type - resurrection unto life]
6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
Matthew 24: 31
And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

THE HARVEST RESURRECTION — “ There is a difference and the Scriptures reveals that it clearly takes place! — These are the Tribulation saints and they make up the later harvest standing before the Throne of God in Rev. 15:2! — It says having gotten victory over the beast and his mark! . . . It also mentions them in Rev. 7:13-14 as coming out of Great Tribulation! — And then again for one last infallible confirmation in Rev. 20:4-5, where it said they gave their life during the Tribulation for the Word of God! — Even though they died during the Tribulation, they are still considered in the first resurrection! (Verse 5) . . . Because it says the rest of the dead live not for a thousand years later!” Neal Frisby, Scroll 137
4th Event: Resurrection of All Souls at the Great White Throne Judgement

The fourth event occurs after the 1000 year millennium reign of Christ at which time the bible says a final judgment is passed,
the great white throne judgment. At this time the devil that deceived many is finally cast into the lake of fire and brimstone.

Revelation 20:10-12
10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

At this point, all remaining deceased souls are resurrected. The remaining believers not yet raised in prior resurrection events and all wicked souls since the fall of man. This is the first time the wicked are resurrected.

This group of souls are judged by their works, both good and evil.

John 5:28-29
28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

Acts 17:31
Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man (Jesus) whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.
Multiple Events of Resurrection unto Life: the First Fruit Type of Resurrection
The Bible describes four separate resurrection events:

1. Crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus along with many saints
2. Resurrection of the dead in Christ and translation rapture of living Bride & Wise
3. After rapture but prior to the Millennium (Harvest Resurrection)
4. Great White Throne Judgement

Three of the resurrection events are the First type unto life, one resurrection event includes both souls resurrected unto life and souls resurrected unto damnation. The saints (believers) are raised during multiple events unto the resurrection of life. The unbelievers are raised once unto the resurrection of damnation at the Great White Throne judgement. In the end, all deceased souls are resurrected.

John 11:25 Jesus said, “I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live. [for eternity]

Philippians 2:10-11
10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

1 Corinthians 15:22-23
22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. 23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.

"There has already been a first fruit type of resurrection when Jesus died and was raised concerning some of the Old Testament saints!” (St. Matt. 27:52-53) – “Also there will be a New Testament first fruit resurrection coming!” Neal Frisby SW16 Resurrection

The bible speaks of two resurrections, there is a resurrection of life, which we will learn consists of multiple events, and the resurrection of damnation, which occurs once at the Great White Throne Judgement. The “two resurrections” describe the outcome (unto life or unto death), rather than the number of events. The first resurrection is unto life, the second resurrection unto death.

Acts 24:15
And have hope toward God...that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.

Daniel 12:2
And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

John 5:28-29
Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
