21 And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methuselah: 22 And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters: 23 And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years: 24 And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him. 25 And Methuselah lived an hundred eighty and seven years, and begat Lamech: 26 And Methuselah lived after he begat Lamech seven hundred eighty and two years, and begat sons and daughters: 27 And all the days of Methuselah were nine hundred sixty and nine years: and he died.

14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, 15 To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.

Special Writing 126: The Creator Returns

“By glancing through the book of Revelation one can see the number 7 is used over and over, as to be telling us something very significant. For one thing the number 7 means fulfillment and conclusion. And certainly our generation is ending and is finishing up the harvest. Now concerning prophecy the Lord gives us certain clues concerning His near return! Now just before the flood, men lived to be hundreds of years old, so it’s kind of hard to see what a generation would be during the early times! But the Lord gave the number 7 in association with His coming again!” – Jude 1:14 – And Enoch also, the seventh (generation) from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints!” – And we also must remember that just before the last century ended of the first thousand years Enoch was translated!” (Gen. 5:24) – “And probably like Elijah was!” (II Kings 2:11) – “Also this could be typical of telling us the church could very well leave like Elijah of old! The word translated was used!” (Heb. 11:5)

TO UNDERSTAND THE FULL DEPTHS OF THE GIFT OF PROPHECY — “let us consider Enoch’s brief prophecy... We have about ten main elements which are involved in true prophecy! Read Jude 1:14-15.” — “First it says Enoch was the 7th from Adam indicating that he was a prophet that reached spiritual perfection! And as we know he was translated! ... God sets prophets in positions and not by man! — Next the prophecy pointed towards Christ! THE TRANSLATION FORESHADOWS “As God took Enoch, He took Elijah. There was a purpose in the translation of these two men! They are a type of the saints who will be alive and translated at the coming of the Lord! Moses died and was resurrected again! (Jude 1:9) He is a type of those who died and are resurrected at Christ’s coming! Now Moses was seen talking with Elijah a type of the translated saint at the Transfiguration! (Luke 9:30) And both of these men were talking to Christ before His resurrection and translation!’’. “Also evidently after the translation people may try to search for those who have disappeared, but they cannot find them! For Heb. 11:5 declares that Enoch was not found meaning that there was a search on! Also the sons of the prophets searched for Elijah after he was caught up in a chariot of fire! (II Kings 2:11, 17)
